Offering spectacular sea views and a sandy beach, One&Only Kéa Island Resort is spread across sixty hectares of the sheltered western coastline of Kéa, the closest Cycladic island to Athens. It is the second One&Only in Greece, and it is designed as an idyllic beachfront resort. Soneva, renowned for its innovative ‘no news, no shoes’ approach to relaxation, introduces Soneva Secret on the remote atoll of Haa Dhaalu in the Maldives. As an extension of Soneva’s acclaimed resorts, it features 14 beach and over-water villas, including exclusive lagoon Crusoe Villas accessible only by boat, and the groundbreaking Castaway, the Maldives’ inaugural floating villa.
The resort emphasizes nature with clever design features like sliding roofs for stargazing. Personalized service is paramount, with two assistants per villa and a personal chef for bespoke in-villa dining. The Waldorf Astoria Platte Island Seychelles is part of a $100 million development on Platte Island, about 130km (80 miles) south of Mahé, to which guests are flown by private plane. The resort features 59 luxury villas with private pools, a selection of restaurants and beach bars, a spa, a kids club, tennis courts, an outdoor observatory, and a marine conservation discovery center. The island is known for its wild beauty, and sustainability is a key focus of the Waldorf Astoria Platte Island. The resort uses solar panels for renewable energy, and many buildings throughout the grounds have solar-paneled roofing.

In the heart of bustling Bangkok, Aman’s inaugural urban hotel and residences in Nai Lert Park, crafted by Jean Michel Gathy, promise a 36-story architectural marvel. The Desert Rock Resort, an ambitious eco-tourism project designed by Oppenheim Architecture, is nestled in the granite mountains of Saudi Arabia as part of the Red Sea Project. Its first phase is set to open in late 2024, featuring a 60-room ultra-luxury property with 48 villas and 12 suites seamlessly embedded into towering rock formations. The unique design minimizes disruption to the natural landscape while providing private infinity pools that capture sweeping views of the desert. Notable features include a luxury spa, remote mountain restaurants, and an oasis-like pool. During the day, the resort’s dwellings blend with the surroundings, while at sunset, they illuminate like lanterns, creating a captivating desert scene from afar.

More than 135 years after the original Raffles opened in the city, Singapore gets the second Raffles. This time, it is the first villa-only resort in the country, set among over 100,000 square meters of tropical gardens with the beautiful South China Sea. The 62 villas range in size from 260 square meters in one-bedroom villas to 450 square meters in four-bedroom ones, but all feature private swimming pools and terrace areas for the ultimate seclusion and comfort. The markers that make Raffles a legendary name — including the famous Raffles Butlers and Raffles Spa — are also central to the Raffles Sentosa resort experience. The resort facilities include a bar, restaurant, fitness center, celebration room, and meeting spaces.

The St Regis Red Sea Resort is a luxury hotel on a private island and the first St. Regis property in Saudi Arabia. Designed by Kengo Kuma, the resort’s ninety villas are shaped into low-rise architectonic forms with curved roofs and lines inspired by the surrounding landscape. The villas are positioned both on land and over water, and they are central to the resort experience, with avant-garde style and a seamless, personalized experience through technology. The resort has a full spectrum of facilities; among them are two signature restaurants, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a spa, and a Children’s Club. The St Regis Red Sea Resort is part of The Red Sea Project, a large-scale development project on the country’s west coast. The destination has a wealth of natural sites, such as untouched islands, dormant volcanoes, deserts, and mountains.

Six Senses La Sagesse, making its Caribbean debut in Grenada, spans 28 acres, prioritizing space, privacy, and breathtaking sea views. The resort features 56 guestrooms, one-bedroom villas, and two-bedroom villas seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape. Drawing inspiration from traditional Caribbean architecture, the design mirrors a vibrant village, with pathways crafted from repurposed nutmeg shells and cocoa skins, paying homage to Grenada’s ‘Spice Island’ heritage. The Experience Center serves as a community hub, while the Great House offers diverse dining experiences, including a Signature restaurant with local, Creole-inspired menus. Aman Resorts’ new hotel brand, Janu, has the same sophisticated design approach and philosophy as its parent brand, but it also emphasizes connection and community, aiming at a younger clientele. This new chain is opening three hotels; the first launches in Tokyo, followed by Montenegro and Saudi Arabia. The 120 rooms of Janu Tokyo are designed by Jean-Michel Gathy (who was also behind Aman Vietnam and Aman Venice), and they benefit from a view of an island of greenery through large windows. In keeping with Aman’s focus on wellness, the hotel launches with one of Japan’s biggest spas, spanning over 3,500 m². The hotel also features six restaurants, cafes, and bars.

Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties are all designed to offer a private, transformative travel experience focused on human connection and a blend of local culture, heritage, and environment. The Nujuma resort follows the template. It’s a luxury destination with 63 one- to four-bedroom water and beach villas and a range of luxurious amenities and services. There is a spa, multiple culinary venues, swimming pools, a retail area, and a Conservation Center. Occupying a coveted spot in a small archipelago in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea, Nujuma makes for an easy choice for travelers seeking a distinct and luxurious escape in a chic, relaxed, and intimate setting.
Nujuma is one of the exclusive, uber-luxurious resorts that form part of The Red Sea Project. It’s a destination the Saudi government is pouring vast amounts of money into building essentially from scratch. This ambitious — and expensive — development covers 28,000 square kilometers and a chain of islands on the west coast of Saudi Arabia.

This is Mandarin Oriental’s second London opening, with the address on Hanover Square in the heart of the Mayfair neighborhood. But rather than just a hotel, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair is also a collection of private residences.
There are fifty rooms and suites, plus eighty Residences at Mandarin Oriental, advertised as the most exclusive private homes in the city. On top of a dedicated residential concierge, their owners have access to the full range of hotel facilities, such as a fitness and wellness center or an indoor pool. There is also five-star dining, a stylish bar, and a private rooftop bar. Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair London is a boutique hotel with an intimate atmosphere enveloped in contemporary luxury.

Voaara in Madagascar, situated on the island of Sainte-Marie, unveils a barefoot luxury resort featuring tropical-style accommodations and embodying a community-led concept. Founded by Philippe Kjellgren, the visionary behind PK’s List and Kiwi Collection, Voaara emphasizes quality, innovation, and authenticity. The resort, named after Malagasy words for ‘forbidden’ and ‘nature,’ reflects simplicity, elegance, and quiet luxury. With an initial offering of eight bungalows and one three-bedroom villa, Voaara plans a phased launch, ultimately providing 45 keys. Collaborating with architect Luis F Mira, the resort features spaces adorned with local materials, reclaimed wood, and infinity pools, with plans for a spa. Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur is an all-suite hotel, boasting an extensive rooftop courtyard-inspired presidential suite along with eight restaurants and bars. The design, by LW Design Hong Kong, seamlessly blends modern amenities with the preservation of iconic features, including the renowned Peacock Alley and the Meet Me Under The Clock timepiece in the lobby. Architects artfully integrated Malaysia’s rich cultural traditions into the interiors, with the lobby incorporating Kufic calligraphy and Songket fabrics as nods to local heritage. The 279 custom-designed suites showcase Green Verde Alpi marble-inspired accents and neutral color palettes. The rooftop presidential suite has an indoor courtyard, dining rooms, and a terrace garden offering panoramic views of the city. The hotel’s restaurant features intricate mashrabiya patterns, embracing an indoor-outdoor dining concept, and serves global dishes crafted by chefs trained by the royal household.

Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is launching on Costa Rica’s Peninsula Papagayo, with 107 guestrooms and 36 residences amid the lush Guanacaste region. SB Architects, in collaboration with Luxury Frontiers, designed the resort with a nod to Costa Rican Hacienda Architecture and a commitment to ecotourism. The site-sensitive approach integrates tree-house structures, tents, and villas. La Casona, the heart of the property, features oceanfront buildings, a three-meal restaurant, a hidden rum cave, and the main pool, while a rustic beach club with a natural lagoon-like pool offers a unique coastal experience, connected by an iconic funicular for breathtaking hillside views.

While the original Six Senses resorts tended to stand in remote, tropical locations, in recent years the brand broke away from that model and expanded into city resorts. One such new opening is Six Senses London, located in Bayswater. It features 110 guest rooms and suites, plus 14 branded residences with access to the hotel facilities. The property features a spa and wellness club that offers a balanced and therapeutic environment for overall well-being. There is also a large space dedicated to fitness, an indoor swimming pool, and a relaxation room with vaulted ceilings. Created by the renowned architectural firm Nikken Sekkei, the breathtaking structure comprises two towers connected by The Link. The Hoxton is a hotel located in Vienna, Austria, in a 1950s modernist building that used to be the headquarters of Austria’s Chamber of Commerce. The place’s history is channeled through the hotel design with themes inspired by the energy of its neighborhood and the original features of the building incorporated into the interiors. The hotel has 196 guest rooms and features a spacious lobby with a coffee bar, a restaurant and terrace, a rooftop bar and pool, and a basement speakeasy. This is Hoxton’s debut in Vienna, and it launches with an events space with an auditorium, the first for the brand.

The Lana is a 225-key hotel occupying 30 levels of a purpose-built tower designed by Foster+Partners. The interiors, by Parisian duo Gilles & Boissier, take inspiration from the cosmopolitan spirit of Dubai. The suites, or bungalows, are true five-star luxury abodes. Six feature individual infinity pools — ideal for couples or solo travelers — while families or groups can choose among six garden suites. The lodge’s standout feature is a 180-meter-long elevated structure connecting the Homestead to a nearby watering hole. The boardwalk houses a world-class restaurant, dining spaces and bars, an infinity pool, and a wildlife viewing platform.

This unique hotel occupies 10 connected Georgian-style townhouses on two sides of a street in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh. The Hoxton has 211 rooms, designed by Ennismore Design Studio in color schemes and subtle textures that complement the houses’ heritage style. In addition to the hotel rooms, the hotel has three “Hox Homes,” three-bedroom apartments that offer more flexibility and are suitable for long stays. There is a restaurant, event spaces, and an art gallery among the hotel facilities.

Regent Canggu promises a fresh take on the Balinese vacation experience. Available to travelers are 150 rooms, created around concepts that draw inspiration from local traditions and mixed into contemporary ideas to create a strong Regent style. The resort offers luxury through craftsmanship and “moments of discovery” curated by the Regent Experience Agents. Bali Canggu is Regent Hotels & Resorts’ first resort in Indonesia.

Oetker Collection introduces its first American property, Vineta, located in Palm Beach, Florida. Housed in the historic Chesterfield Palm Beach building, known for the Leopard Lounge, the hotel features a charming light-pink façade and Mediterranean revival architecture. Paris-based designer Tino Zervudachi has transformed the Leopard Lounge into an elegant restaurant. The original 53 rooms have been refined to 41, with Zervudachi’s design emphasizing clean lines, a relaxed ambiance, and a stylish, youthful color palette. Positioned just two blocks from Worth Avenue’s upscale shops, Vineta boasts a prime location.

Alila Shanghai, situated within the mixed-use development in Shanghai’s Jing’an District, is a 188-room hotel offering a serene retreat amid the city’s hustle. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is set to manage the reimagined Hotel Formentor in Mallorca, Spain, originally established in 1929. The historic property, undergoing extensive renovations overseen by architects Estudio Lamela and SCT Estudio de Arquitectura, will emerge as a luxurious Four Seasons destination. Nestled on the Formentor Peninsula, the resort boasts 110 rooms and suites, each featuring balconies with captivating sea and forest views.
