In the heart of Rome’s most sophisticated designer district, just meters away from the Spanish Steps lies one of Rome’s chicest boutique hotels—a luxury Italian-style townhouse owned by the Ferragamo family.
With old photos of Ferragamo himself pictured with his famous clients—like Ava Gardner, Sophia Loren, Marlene Dietrich, and Audrey Hepburn—lining the staircase at Portrait Roma, the atmosphere resembles the spirit of a fashion atelier or film set.
Designed by the celebrity Florentine architect, Michele Bönan the hotel reflects the splendor and luxury of 1950’s Rome. Dedicating each suite to a grand personality, the architect pays tribute to the extraordinary style of Salvatore Ferragamo.
Above the rooftops of Rome
Other than the small reception area, the only communal space is the stunning roof terrace ensuring amazing views over the Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish Steps.
It’s a perfect venue for a panoramic al fresco breakfast, an elegant sundowner, a romantic evening meal or leisurely after-dinner drink.

Some have their own private balconies and terraces, and two suites offer a sauna and a fitness corner. Designed in greys, creams and earth tones, with subtle pops of baby pink and citrusy lime, the suites combine vintage chic with contemporary glamour.
