After Huvafen Fushi, this is the second addition to the Per AQUUM Resorts’ Maldivian portfolio. Celebrated for its cutting edge, funky brand, NIYAMA is a vibrant resort that balances tranquillity with a sense of discovery, stimulation and fun.
Set up on two idyllic islands Embudhufushi and Olhuveli, NIYAMA embraces Maldivian elegance, wrapping it in contemporary aesthetic.
86 Studios and Pavilions
An array of accommodation options awaits a discerning traveller. Families often choose private pools and exclusive beach access in the Beach Pavilions or the Beach Residences, which have private dining alcoves and large living areas.
Couples tend to book a pavilion set out over water, like the expansive Deluxe Water Studio, with spacious living areas, private pools and stunning views of the Indian Ocean seascape.
For the ultimate treat, go for one of the two Ocean Pavilions with Private Pool. It’s a whooping 350 sqm, packed with the best the top luxury can offer: gadgets, spacious decks, infinity pool, Jacuzzi and more. The Pavillons come with “personal everything”—which includes dining, cocktail bar, wine collection.
Dining and lounging
Niyama features several dining venues—all with different settings and flavours.
International cuisine is served at Epicure, the all-day diner; South American, Asian and African at Tribal. Go to Dune for refreshing poolside cocktails, lounge at Fahrenheit with a sundowner. There is also the unique in-room gourmet delicatessen: the Deli.
The most special place, and NIYAMA’s signature restaurant, is the Edge. It’s a fine-dining place, built 500 metres offshore, and only accessible by boat. Below is the world’s first underwater club: Subsix, submerged eight metres down.
Being the first seems to be a bit of a theme at NIYAMA: another one is The LIME, the first in the Maldives 24-hour spa. Here you can come for a treatment at any time, day or night.
You may want to go at night, as the day is set to be filled-up. There is just so much to do: NIYAMA sure knows how to keep kids and adults entertained.
Available are Nintendo Wii consoles, remote control boats and buggies, dhoni excursions, scuba diving, photography and filmmaking courses, in-room entertainment systems, weekly movie nights (fresh popcorn included!), and even a Marine Biology lab.
