Housed in a five-story palazzo-style building that dates back to the 16th century, G-Rough showcases an unconventional “Made in Italy” concept of luxury in Rome’s Piazza Navona.
The brainchild of friends, business partners, and bon vivants Gabriele Salini and Emanuele Garosci—the pair behind Venice’s glamorous and sophisticated PalazzinaG (as we said in our review)—G-Rough hotel mixes high- and low-brow luxury, celebrating Italian design in a unique ‘rough luxe’ aesthetic.
Thanks to a shared vision of redefining luxury and an unconventional approach to hospitality, the founders created an atmosphere of contemporary nostalgia, unique to G-Rough.
Each floor of this 10-suite property is modelled on a renowned Italian designer from the early 20th Century: Giò Ponti, Ico Parisi, Silvio Cavatorta, Paolo Venini, Guglielmo Ulrich, Osvaldo Borsani, Archimede Seguso. Each suite features original furniture, and the 90sqm penthouse boasts a stunning view of the Sant’Agnese dome.
The interiors make an impression of a Fellini-esque visual landscape that blends fantasy and baroque. This is augmented by a luxury tailor-made travel experience, which includes services of a “lifestyle manager” and an exclusive tour of the hidden side of Rome.
The hotel also features a 35m2 café and bar on the ground floor, which showcases work from local up-and-coming designers and artists.
