But unlike many others, this stunning new addition to the island’s hotel scene is designed especially with honeymooners in mind, taking the concept of exclusivity and romantic lavishness one step further.
Strongly focused towards romance, the three spacious honeymoon suites (aptly named Passion, Senses and Love) offer a balance of comfort and great style.
The suites are individually designed and furnished in the quintessentially simple and elegant Cycladic style, and decorated using contemporary artefacts by prominent designers such as Jaime Hayon and Patricia Urquiola.
Each suite is perched on the cliff’s edge facing the sea, and on its own level, which gives guests privacy and seclusion. Expansive outdoor space with fantastic views include spacious sitting areas and built-in sofas, a swimming pool and an eating area inspired by the classic Santorinian carved caves.
The idyllic location of the hotel is the star attraction. Surronded by the breathtaking scenery, the infinity pool makes a powerful illusion of swimming off the edge to the Aegean sea, hundreds of metres below. The pool area is the perfect place to enjoy a cool sundowner, served from the pool bar.
Room rates include champagne breakfast, which is brought to the guests’ own private terrace: as the hotel advertises, “this is what Alta Vista Suites accommodation is all about.” These are the unforgetable moments: the cool morning breeze and scorching sun, sips of bubbly and spectacular scenery, in the company of the loved one.
The hotel is located 3km from the island’s capital Fira and it belongs to Greek pop star and one-time Eurovision song contest entrant Michalis Hatzigiannis.
