Cottars family has been enabling the ultimate safari experience to generations of safari-goers. We were lucky to experience the Cottar’s hospitality when we stayed at the camp: it was like a trip to the golden days of the early European explorers.
1920s is located just outside the Maasai Mara, within a 25,000-acre private concession, an area virtually untouched by any kind of organized mass tourism. The camp is the only operator on this private land—this assures privacy and game viewing free of other vehicles and tourists.
“We’d like to give people a little bit of the real experience that our family had in the early days” —Calvin Cottar, fourth generation of Cottar family
The rolling savannah in the vicinity has no fences or man-made structures, and it is blessed with the still massive hordes of wildebeest and other animals.
The camp employs some of the best guides in Kenya. They excel at 4×4 game drives, walking safaris and ‘night drive’ activities in the concession. Cottars Safari Service is consistently ranked as one of Africa’s top outfitters, offering an authentic gold-tap and canvas tent experience. We wish to visit again!
